Faced with Maryland's and BGE's COVID-19 restrictions on limiting customer interactions to emergency situations only, BGE teamed with their field vendor, Scope Services, to develop VIA, which supports their legacy demand response program. The service was designed and implemented in just a few weeks to address BGE wait-listed customers who, if delayed, could no longer take advantage of BGE's no cost ecobee 3 lite thermostat, along with a no cost installation by a qualified field technician, and could jeopardize their summer bill credits of up to $100. BGE and Scope quickly teamed up and has successfully delivered many virtual thermostat installations while keeping our customers and employees safe.
