Connected Devices Session
Take an electric vehicle road trip with the PLMA Connected Devices Interest Group! Our first stop is a cost calculator developed by TEP to help mitigate the fear of purchasing fleets of electric vehicles. Our final stop is with Eversource and EnergyHub as they explain how they created a BYOD DR program for electric vehicles. Along the way, our speakers discuss the resources, opportunities, and barriers that utilities must consider when incorporating these types of solutions into a program. After their long road trip, the speakers return to a “connected home,” which is a bundle of smart devices that work together to create comfort for customers while providing energy benefits to utilities.

CLEAResult and AEG explain the learnings from this study with PG&E, showing how customers interact with their smart technology, and what new functionality might be of interest to them in the future. These insights are helpful as utilities strive to leverage the benefits of an increasing number of smart devices.
