EV load management is gaining traction but currently, most offerings are either in the pilot stage or programs with just a few thousand participants. The next three years will be critical to ensuring the grid can handle a large influx of EV load and that EV drivers are prepared to be part of the solution. This panel will focus on the future of EV load management, including preparations for mass adoption of EV load management offerings. It will also address the tradeoffs and benefits of large-scale investments in different program design options including TOU rates, off-peak charging programs, dynamic optimization programs, and V2X.
