This session will provide insights into the drivers, design, and implementation of the Demand Side Grid Support program enabling both utilities and third parties to provide flexible resources to support grid stability to mitigate the impacts of extreme events and avoid emergency situations when possible. The program, implemented in 2022 and approved through 2027 has enrolled over 300 MW of capacity and continues to evolve, providing flexible options to fuel growth and maintain grid stability. We will discuss lessons learned, results from the last two operational years and changes to the program design. A unique aspect of this program is the collaboration of stakeholders to design options that can readily be offered and launched by a utility or CCA acting as a provider. This session will provide observations and lessons learned from both the administrator and provider point of view.
